HAND FINISHING TECHNIQUES IN COUTURE: ONE-DAY COURSE

Discover the time honoured techniques of fashion’s couture ateliers, led by award-winning fashion design consultant and master patternmaker Glen Rollason. Participants will discover a range of delicate artisanal finishes used in the process of couture fashion construction and practice the applications of each technique.
Glen Rollason is Director of Rollason Bowring Design, and brings three decades of invaluable fashion industry experience to the forefront. As the head of Australia’s leading pattern making and sample development studio, Glen empowers over 50 of the country’s top designer brands, both global and independent, to thrive. His expertise extends to design consultancy, pattern making, and manufacturing brokerage, providing comprehensive support to his clients. Glen is also an active member of the FashLab advisory board, a creative community dedicated to knowledge sharing and mentorship within the local fashion industry and serves on The Australian Fashion Week advisory committee. In 1999, he was honoured with the MFF Designer of the Year award.
In this hands-on workshop, Glen Rollason will introduce the artisanal skills used to hand-finish garments in couture fashion ateliers. Participants will be guided through three key finishing techniques used to complete fastenings on garments.
Course enrolment includes all materials.
Suitable for all skill levels, prior hand-stitching experience will be advantageous.
