FASHION FIX LAB

MON 26 FEB - FRI 1 MAR 12:00PM
RMIT Activator, Carlton

WORKSHOP

Fashion Fix Lab is investigating where clothes break by fixing them. Bring your garments in need of mending or alteration. We’ll share hand repair techniques with you ranging from inconspicuous to decorative, functional to expressive. Sewing supplies are provided and all levels from novice to experienced welcome. If your garment can’t be fixed on the day we will provide advice on what could be done and where.

This workshop is based on the community repair model where volunteers teach and assist with the repair of consumer goods. Your repairs completed at the workshop will also be documented and contribute to the Fashion Fix research project at RMIT University to create a database of mending aimed at informing knowledge of garment longevity and durability
