Welcome to Australia’s largest and longest-running consumer fashion event, the Melbourne Fashion Festival. The Victorian Government is a longstanding supporter of the festival, and we look forward to another fantastic celebration of design, arts, creativity, and ideas in 2024 – the Festival’s 28th year. There is something for everyone in this year’s program with more than 100 diverse and engaging events over 15 days celebrating local, sustainable, and First Nations designers.

Over three decades, the Melbourne Fashion Festival has nurtured local designers, inspired excellence, and helped to put our city on the map as a destination for fashion. The Victorian Government is proud to support this event as a cultural drawcard in our ‘Mad March’ of events. It’s a terrific time to be in Melbourne with exciting cultural and sporting events across the city and thousands of restaurants and bars to explore. The Melbourne Fashion Festival helps bring more visitors to Melbourne while supporting our established and emerging designers as they hone their skills and forge new paths.

Melbourne is the nation’s premier fashion destination which is why I’m absolutely thrilled to celebrate the PayPal Melbourne Fashion Festival in 2024. Melbourne is a city that loves fashion, supports local designers and makers and knows how to throw a fabulous event. The PayPal Melbourne Fashion Festival ticks all these boxes and more.

It is the biggest and longest-running consumer fashion event in Australia and will take over the city with a creative program of premier retailer designer runways and fashion events. Over 15 days, cutting-edge Australian fashion is coming to every corner of the city. Plus, there’s a full program of industry events, ideas and hospitality experiences to complement the fashion.

The City of Melbourne is proud to be an event partner again in 2024, presenting the Fashion Forecourt. Head to the Fashion Forecourt, just outside the Royal Exhibition Building, offering Melbourne's most stylish drinks, gourmet fare, live DJs, entertainment and playful activations. It’s a free, non-ticketed fashion hub perfect for pre or post show celebrations – only in the city.
