Making Sense of Menswear
SATURDAY 4 MARCH
12:30PM - 1.15PM
PANEL TALK
Live Stage Emporium
There’s no doubt menswear is an exciting area of the fashion industry at the moment, especially with the breaking down of traditional menswear dresscodes as well as the rise in androgynous fashion collections. This has sparked great conversations about redefining what menswear actually means in today’s fashion world.
Join this conversation, with Lauren Di Bartolo, founder of Australian Style Institute, and Godwin Hili from made-to-measure tailoring brand Godwin Charli, leading this interactive and informative workshop. They’ll explore how menswear is being redefined in today’s fashion world, utilising a capsule of pieces to demonstrate key styling techniques for modern day menswear.
Why should you listen to them? Well, Lauren Di Bartolo is one of Australia’s leading stylists and founder of Australian Style Institute (2010). With over 15 years editorial and personal styling experience under her belt, Lauren developed a styling methodology focused on human behaviour, now widely used to transform clients’ lives. Lauren is driven by knowing how to break the traditional 'rules' of dressing to create a more confident, sustainable and authentic brand of style.
Since 2007, Godwin Hili has been at the forefront of men’s and women’s tailoring in Australia, designing and creating unique garments from the Godwin Charli atelier in Melbourne. So it’s fair to say he knows a thing or two about the made-to-measure industry, and wants to utilise this to help you make sense of menswear.
Whether you’re desperately seeking styling 101 or are already deep in the fashion industry and interested in keeping abreast of the changes, they’ll be something in this conversation for everyone.
