I Can't Stand Podcast : The next big thing in fashion is... Disability Inclusion.

SATURDAY 4 MARCH
11:30AM - 12:15PM
PODCAST /LIVE INTERVIEW
Live Stage Emporium

For too long disabled people have often been the forgotten portion of reflecting true inclusion and diversity in the fashion industry. Now with powerhouses like James Parr at the forefront, disabled people are starting to be included in every element of the Australian Fashion Industry. Lovers of fashion know and understand what you wear can define and change how you feel about yourself; communicating to the world how you want to be seen and considered.

For disabled customers, fashion is paramount in developing pride and power in who we are as disabled people. That is why 2023 feels like the most exciting time in fashion. Disabled people are starting to be represented, heard and considered by the Australian fashion industry like never before. With 1 in 5 people in Australia identifying as disabled, the scope and impact on the Australian Fashion Industry is likely to be massive.

The Melbourne Fashion Festival recognises the power disabled people hold for the future of the Australian fashion industry. James Parr, a Wiradjuri man, model, actor, triathlete and disability advocate is set to sit down live with podcaster and fellow disability advocate Peta Hooke at The Melbourne Fashion Festival on Saturday 4th of March at 11:30 am. The disabled pair are excited to discuss and explore the disabled perspective of fashion and how disabled people could be the key to the future of Australian fashion.
