Now in its 12th year, the Fashion Film Awards is an internationally recognised platform for fashion filmmakers to amplify their remarkable work and shines a deserving spotlight on fashion film as a key communication platform for both fashion designers and filmmakers.  

PayPal Melbourne Fashion Festival extends an invitation to filmmakers of diverse backgrounds and experience levels to submit their work for the coveted Awards, with prizes that provide unparalleled exposure to a diverse Festival audience, substantial online recognition and an exclusive email introduction to Beatrice Bloom, President and Managing Director of the London Fashion Film Festival. 

Award categories:

  • Best Fashion Film: Open to all professional and amateur film makers and agencies from around the globe

  • Best Student Fashion Film: Open to applicants who are currently enrolled in a Fashion or Film-related course, or who graduated between June 2021 and June 2023 so long as the submitted film was made as part of their student work.

  • Beatrice Bloom

    President & Managing Director
    London Fashion Film Festival

    Beatrice Bloom has been president and director of the London Fashion Film Festival for the past 10 years, initially appointed for her contribution to a revolutionary way of seeing Fashion Films, which became her new movement in the industry. She has been an international jury member in other film festivals, as well as a mentor in universities. Beatrice has also been a freelance director, producer and fashion film tutor, since 2010.

  • Krew Boylan

    Co-Founder, Dollhouse Pictures

    Multi-talented Krew Boylan is an actor, screenwriter and Co-Founder of Dollhouse Pictures. Her feature screenwriting debut as well as playing the starring role of Red in Seriously Red produced by Dollhouse Pictures (of which Krew, director Gracie Otto and co-star Rose Byrne are all founding partners, along with Shannon Murphy and Jessica Carerra). Krew has completed shooting, season two of BBC 1, The Secrets She Keeps, ABC’s Mother & Son and Channel 10 Paper Dolls. Krew is currently filming Ladies In Black.

  • Al Cossar

    Artistic Director, MIFF

    Al Cossar is currently Artistic Director of the Melbourne International Film Festival, where he has worked since 2011. Previously he was Program Director for the Portable Film Festival, a founding programmer, and subsequent Board Member for the Human Rights Arts and Film Festival, and Festival Manager for Flickerfest. He has been a television film critic for ABC News Breakfast, and worked in post production supervision in his home country of New Zealand.

  • David Finnegan

    Creative Director, Sense 6

    For 16 years, David Finnegan has been the Creative Director and Founder of Sense 6, a production company that specialises in filming and photographing food, fashion, events, corporate, and advertising. Before that, David was an art director and creative director for design and advertising companies, delivering large-scale brand and ad campaigns. He still enjoys the creative process, now seeing it evolve through film and photography executions.

  • Chelsey O’Brien

    Curator, ACMI

    Chelsey O'Brien has worked in the arts and cultural industry for over fifteen years across Melbourne, San Francisco and New York. Currently a curator at ACMI, she played a key role in developing the new permanent exhibition The Story of the Moving Image and has worked closely with artists through several commissioning projects. Chelsey is interested in the history of early cinema, movie-going culture and contemporary moving image practice. She holds a Bachelor of Film & Television and a Masters of Art Curatorship.

  • Caroline Pitcher

    CEO, VicScreen

    As CEO of VicScreen, Caroline spearheads Victoria’s creative and economic screen development agency, championing the growth of our vibrant and diverse screen industry. With over 20 years of industry experience, she has held leadership roles across government and private sectors, including as GM Post-Production, Deluxe Australia and Chief Executive of Ausfilm. She applies her extensive experience in strategic development and marketing to inspire high-performing teams reach their full potential.

  • Benjamin Zeccola

    CEO, Palace Cinemas

    Benjamin Zeccola is CEO of Palace Cinemas. With over 27 years experience, he has a wide range of skills in Exhibition (Retail), Distribution, Leadership, General Management, Business Development, Marketing, Sponsorship, Acquisitions, Production and Sales. Zeccola sits on various boards and was Winner of the 2017 CEO AWARD from the Independent Cinemas Association of Australia.
