S!X presents an installation of fashion garments, objects and a film by reusing the single-use plastic bags that litter our oceans, reimagining these as decorative items of luxury. Think of it as a salvage operation, the doomed Titanic on which we are all passengers saved from catastrophe. This intimate event will be hosted by LADRO and will run from 5:00pm -7:00pm.

ABOUT THE ORGANISERS

S!X is a Melbourne based fashion practice created by Denise Sprynskyj and Peter Boyd. The design practice revolves around the deconstruction and excavation of found garments, particularly the tailored jacket, and the transformation of their surface. S!X have a fascination with the use of French language in fashion and often use French words, names and iconography within each project. S!X is in the permanent collection of The National Gallery of Victoria, The National Gallery of Australia, The Museum of Applied Arts and Sciences and The Hobart City Gallery and collected in Sagacho Gallery Tokyo. They have exhibited in L’Éclaireur in Paris and in exhibitions in Oaxaca, Mexico; Borås Sweden; Utsonomiya, Japan; and Athens, Greece.S!X have won a Victorian Premier’s Design Award, The Emerging Designer Award at the Melbourne Fashion Festival and the Hobart Art Prize.
