LAST YEAR AT MARIENBAD
FRI 1 MAR - SUN 3 MAR
ACMI Cinema 1, Melbourne
SCREENING
In 1961, Coco Chanel intersected with the French New Wave via Alain Resnais’ hauntingly beautiful Last Year at Marienbad. Join us in the cinema as we present the beautiful 4K restoration of Resnais' film starring Delphine Seyrig in all her Chanel-clad glory.
Featuring stunning haute couture costumes by Coco Chanel who reportedly provided a selection to best represent the height of the era’s fashion, Delphine Seyrig cuts a fine figure that would have made Chanel proud. Transcending the aesthetic, the costumes here give clues to piecing together a timeline to navigate what is truly one of the most beguiling films of all time.
