Join Curator Margot Anderson and Conservator Bronwyn Cosgrove in the Australian Performing Arts Collection Store for an exclusive viewing of costumes designed by Akira Isogawa for Sydney Dance Company between 1998 and 2005. Learn about Isogawa’s creative partnership with celebrated choreographer Graeme Murphy and how he adapted his creative process to suit the demands of contemporary dance.

ABOUT THE ORGANISERS

Margot Anderson is Head of Curatorial with Arts Centre Melbourne’s Australian Performing Arts Collection. She has curated a number of exhibitions including Kylie On Stage and has worked closely with companies such as The Australian Ballet and Opera Australia to develop collections and exhibitions that reflect the history of performing arts in Australia.

Bronwyn Cosgrove is the Senior Conservator with Arts Centre Melbourne’s Australian Performing Arts Collection where she is responsible for the long-term preservation and conservation of objects in the collection. She has expertise in costume and textile conservation and is currently undertaking PhD research on the preservation of plastics in textile collections.

TOUR INFORMATION
The tour meeting point is in Hamer Hall entrance foyer.
Be punctual, tours will begin at the designated start time.
This is a walking and standing tour, please wear comfortable shoes.
There is a designated space to cloak belongings at the beginning of the tour. Belongings will be safe and secure and can be collected at the end of the tour.
Food and drink is not permitted on the tour.
Filming is prohibited within the Collections Store and the use of large cameras or camera lenses.
Objects cannot be touched on this tour.
Please stay close to your guide at all times.
