Discover the art of goldwork and metal thread embroidery at Embroidery House, where history and contemporary artistry meet in a captivating exhibition.
This special event showcases exquisite pieces from The Embroiderers Guild Victoria’s historical collection alongside innovative works by recent Goldwork Master Class graduates and Goldwork Master Tutor Alison Cole, offering visitors a unique journey through the evolution of this remarkable technique. Whether you’re an experienced embroiderer or simply curious, you’ll find inspiration in the intricate designs and shimmering threads on display.
Throughout the day, members of The Embroiderers Guild will be present to demonstrate and share their expertise. Guided house tours are available at 11am and 2pm, offering insights into the rich history of Embroidery House and its role in supporting textile arts. During the tours, you will also have the chance to briefly observe a live class led by world-renowned Goldwork tutor Alison Cole.
Visitors can also browse our sales cabinets, filled with beautifully handcrafted items and a selection of quality second-hand embroidery books.
