FROM PRINT TO FASHION: PAINTING FOR TEXTILE DESIGN

WORKSHOP
Enjoy a 1.5-hour painting class with Tara Whalley learning how to paint with gouache. Be inspired by objects from her personal collection, which inspired her iconic prints from her Gorman collaboration.
In this class you will learn basic colour mixing techniques and introductory tips to painting for fashion prints and spend time painting your artwork.

Spend time working on your artwork inspired by an imaginative display arranged by Tara
By the end of the class, you can take home your unique artwork, as well as some new painting skills!
Please wear clothes you won’t mind getting paint on

Tara Whalley established her self-titled fashion brand after returning to Australia after a year of working with war-affected Mayan weavers. It was this time in Guatemala that formed Tara's painting practice- translating experience into artwork for fabric print and a clear direction for the basis of her fashion signature style.
