City of Melbourne Libraries and PayPal Fashion Festival proudly present a set of simultaneous workshops with Melanie Read of Future Archive and electronic musician Jannah Quill.

Two creators whose practices span the re-appropriation of textile waste or consumer electronic materials in either fashion and design, or electronic music contexts.

The workshops presented by Future Archive and Jannah Quill will provide attendees the opportunity to explore experimental approaches to re-appropriating materials through utilising (and learning) the basics of sewing and soldering.

ABOUT THE EVENT ORGANISER
Founded by Melanie Read, Future Archive tackles textile waste through research-based design, re-use solutions, and education. It engages users via its ‘Design Your Own’ platform and has featured at Melbourne Design Week and PayPal Fashion Festival 2024.

Jannah Quill is a Naarm-based artist pioneering experimental music and sound art using modular synthesisers. Known for her light-to-sound work, she has showcased at Soft Centre, Liquid Architecture, and international venues in Taiwan, Japan, and Sweden.
