CORPSE COUTURE
SUNDAY 23 FEBRUARY
11:00AM
STUDIO TAKE CARE, 1 PITT ST, BRUNSWICK
At Corpse Couture we offer you a hands-on, immersive experience of what it might be like to dress your person after they have died. Work with your 'chosen family' in fulfilling your persons dying wardrobe wishes as we seek to normalise our birthright of community based deathcare.
At Corpse Couture we offer playful space to revive the practice of dressing your deceased. Fashion is a tool of communication, in the context of death, it holds power to connect and unify us in ritual.
Our corpses are performers who will share their crafted story and wardrobe options to you and your ‘chosen family’. Together you’ll work to fulfill their dying wardrobe wishes, followed by our very own vigil and wake. We're gay for consent and co-create safe practice guides at the start. Be brave and join our collective in being a queer eye for the dead guy
After dressing we offer vigil and a wake to hear from our corpses about their experience. Bring your creativity, curiosity, and enthusiasm. Dress comfortably with removable shoes if you wish to participate. Some refreshments provided.
Tickets from $10
